This is why you always merge into the closest lane, then check to see if it's clear to move over. If you can't do a lane change safely, turn around later, or plan your route better.

I did merge into the closest lane, I just got out of it quick. Wouldn't have changed anything though, she was barreling over into that lane anyways. She has a yield sign at that turn.
